Dr. Emoto’s groundbreaking work with water crystals in the early 2000s proved how powerful we and how we can affect water which is fundamental for all life on this beautiful planet. Our bodies are made up of 50-65% water so being hydrated is essential for optimum health. PLUS, the Universal energy of the world is able to metabolize a lot easier when you're hydrated.
Solarized water infuses water with the healing benefits of color and loving intention. Simply do the following to solarize your water.
This is an excellent meditation for not only Reiki healers, but also anyone who works with energy healing to connect with your Spirit Guides.
First, find a place where you can sit or lay quietly undisturbed for about 30 minutes. If you choose to sit, make sure your head is supported. Sit quietly for about a minute or so and release all thoughts from your mind. This may take a few moments. If you find that your mind is racing with thoughts, just allow them to move through your mind continuing to release them.
Next, inhale through your nostrils allowing your lungs to expand and fill with air. Then, exhale slowly through your mouth counting releasing all cares and worries. After taking three breaths, begin to breathe normally, allowing your body and mind to surrender and relax. Surrender to this moment.
After your third breath imagine that you have golden white mist traveling through your entire body, clearing every cell within you, nourishing you and rejuvenating you at this moment. Bring the golden white mist to your third eye chakra (the center of your forehead) and then imagine the golden white mist forming into a circle in your third eye chakra. Focus on that golden white circle for ten seconds, breathing normally.
After ten seconds (or longer if you choose), transform the golden white circle shape into a beautiful rich dark purple, or indigo color five pointed star - again in the center of your forehead, your third eye chakra.
When you’ve completed this, then visualize a beautiful, safe, sacred room that is your Sacred Space. Design the room to your own unique specifications creating serenity, beauty and tranquility within. If a room does not resonate with you, then create a Sacred Garden or place in nature that will hold the same purpose - a Sacred Space that is only for you and for whomever you choose to invite in.
This a sacred space specifically for you, created by you, where you meet your Reiki Guides. This will also be a place to go whenever you’d like to connect with the Divine Consciousness, meet your other guides, the Angelic Beings and other Divinities - you may also have loved ones who’ve crossed over meet you here. This is a very sacred place that feels safe, loving, nurturing and supportive.
You feel a sense of calm, relaxation, and serene here in your sacred room or sacred garden. Continue to breathe normally. Next, imagine yourself sitting in a special chair or bench and allow yourself to feel the sensation of anticipation for which a Being or Guide will be coming to greet you. You can repeat aloud or in your mind, “Through the power of my Soul Self and my Divine Soul Consciousness, I request to meet my guides. Please come forth so that I may consciousness connect with you.”
Don’t be discouraged if after the first time trying, you don’t see or hear anyone. I can assure you that someone came. However, you just may have to practice this meditation a few more times in order to finally connect with them. This is an evolutionary process and one that takes practice in accomplishing. The first time is always the most challenging. So don’t be deterred.
Meanwhile, continue your Reiki practice to release denser energies so you can increase your vibration so you can ultimately connect with with your guides at-will. Continue practicing and TRUSTING that you’ll connect with them and that whatever you need from them will be given to you.
The world of spirit uses metaphors and symbols, unique to you. Spirit guides use language and symbology that is understandable and recognizable by you. It’s their way of communicating with you and ensuring that you receive their messages. They communicate in terms that you understand. For example, some people are well versed with music, so their guides will communicate through songs that they know that person knows. The same goes for you. If you love color, they’ll communicate with color, if you love math they’ll communicate with you through numbers, etc. Once you ascertain their communication style with you communicating with them will become easier and easier.
It’s recommended that in the beginning you try to meet one guide at a time; however, if two or more show up for you, then that’s how many that your soul has allowed to come and connect with you. Remember, there are no rules, regulations or right way or wrong way with this spirit. It’s what’s best for you and what’s for your highest and greatest good.
When you’ve finally concluded your connection with your guide(s), you may end the meditation by ingesting a large cleansing breath, just like when you started and then open your eyes. Make sure you ground yourself and allow yourself some time before getting up and moving around. Keep a journal handy to write down any messages you received. Thank them for coming to you and extend your gratitude. Your guides are here for you and they love and support you infinitely. Always trust and know this.
When you have a spiritual awakening or find yourself ascending and expanding your consciousness, you can undergo a spiritual purification process also known as a spiritual detoxification process. Your beliefs may be shaken and challenged. Beliefs about how the world operates, how relationships should be, religion, theology, your purpose, and what’s important to your life may be questioned You'll find yourself questioning and re-evaluating these topics, whereas before you were absolutely certain about how you felt about each one.
During this time remain open to new insights, revelations, and new understandings as they will become clearer. Meditation can support you as gain a greater understanding and awareness about Universal Truths. Your new awareness of new concepts will be the building blocks of your newly forming and ever-evolving spiritual foundation.
To minimize the effects of the spiritual purification process you may want to talk to like-minded people about what you’re experiencing, read uplifting spiritual books, listen to inspiring lectures, and above all treat yourself with loving kindness. This is actually a time to celebrate. You’re gaining new levels of spiritual understanding and you can rest assured that all is well and the process is unfolding perfectly.
Be at peace. Let go. And let God move through you.
It has been known for eons of time that color plays a major role in setting up a particular mood or state of mind. Colors affect feelings, moods, and emotions. Colors are certain wavelengths of electro-magnetic energy seen through our eyes. The color we see is the part of the visible spectrum that is reflected back by a certain object.
Color Therapy, also known as Chromotherapy, is a form of vibrational medicine that restores vibrational harmony to regain a state of well being to the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies. Color is the language of emotions. Sound is the language of the mind.
Colors are wonderful to work with. Today I invite you to incorporate color into your life and take notice of how you feel.
The highly spiritual month of December bestows the gift of feeling increased love, good-will and generosity for those around us. I love this time of year because there's both an expectation and a freedom to be nice, kind, and loving to others. I adore the lights, decorations, the food - everything. If you're an empath you probably enjoy this time of year too because the sweetness and kindness everyone is sharing just feels better.
If you're an Empath you're actually considered a highly sensitive person. The spiritual definition of being an Empath is the ability to FEEL the exact feelings of others so strongly that you can often mistake them as your own. It isn't until the Empath has removed himself from the situation or person to realize that the feelings he was feeling weren't actually his.
Empaths are also notorious for internalizing others feelings and emotions as their own which creates a host of problems such as high anxiety, upset stomachs, headaches, depression, insecurity, unsettledness, confusion, and more. If an Empath continues to be saturated in an unhealthy emotional environment at home, a relationship, a social group, or even the workplace over a long period of time they'll 99.9% of the time develop depression, anxiety, begin to self-medicate, and engage in other self-sabotaging and disconnecting behaviors all in an attempt to "numb" themselves from feeling so much.
Feeling what's going on around you is not unhealthy. What is unhealthy is the negativity going on around you. When you're uncomfortable you're just having a natural response to an unhealthy situation. It's NORMAL to be uncomfortable around an unhealthy person or unhealthy environment. Your empathy is God's gift to you and nature's way of letting you know that something is off.
If you're an empath you've probably blamed yourself for being "too sensitive," "weird" or "different," or you may even feel you're not strong enough to deal with the rest of the world. This is simply not true. It's essential to accept yourself for being an Empath and to learn how to manage your empathic filter so you don't become overwhelmed by others' aches, pains, moods, and negativity.
Of the many beautiful qualities of being an Empath, you're probably a deeply spiritual person who has an expanded view of Life. You want to feel connected and you can sometimes feel to sense of Oneness in your profound moments. There are many ways for Emapths to manage their energy. The following tips can help you manage your energy when you're surrounded by others.
1. Center Yourself. It's important for Empaths to know what feeling centered feels like. Being centered feels peaceful, serene and clear of thought. When you master your ability to remain centered, you'll immediately recognize when you've been destabilized. You'll be able to pinpoint exactly who, what, why when & where pulled you off your center. This is an empowering life skill for all empaths.
2. Raise Your Awareness. Become aware of and take notice of your empathic triggers. When you know what puts you into empathic-overdrive you'll be able to put yourself back on track much quicker. Pray, meditate and practice relaxation techniques to keep you balanced and aware of where you're at and what's going on around you.
3. Move from Unconscious Empathy to Conscious Empathy. Self-awareness allows you to know what puts you in empathic-overdrive mode and you'll learn more about who you are and how you operate. You'll be able to work through your self-limiting beliefs which will empower you to manage your energy and live consciously, interactively and deliberately with the world around you. You have a more peaceful existence contributing to your quality of life.
As we move into the season of the Holy Days, the month of November brings the energy of gratitude. In American we celebrate Thanksgiving, which folklore shares is the time when the pilgrims broke bread with the Native Americans. Being of mixed heritage, including Native American and English (as well as a few other things coursing through my veins), I'm proud of my mixed heritage that blends my Native American AND English bloods.
When I think of what it must have been like to be at the table when the Indians were sharing their feast with the Pilgrims, I imagine the graciousness and congeniality that they must of felt with each other. I think symbolically it's an important event in history because it's a symbol of unity and togetherness. I also imagine that when they were sharing their meal together, they must have realized how much more alike they were than unalike.
I believe the evolution of civilization follows the evolution of the human soul...just about everyone was born into an experience somewhere on planet where they suffered hardship, poverty, and enslavement. By the same token, we've all had lives where we experienced prosperity, happiness, and productivity. Each individual soul has lived many different lifetimes since the beginning of time. When you think about how many lifetimes we've all had, you begin to realize that it is WE who are responsible for the state of the world today. Understanding life from a spiritual perspective allows you to better understand that each lifetime gave you the opportunity to learn, evolve, grow; AND clear your personal karma, your karma with others, your karma with the collective, and your karma with the planet. When you realize the infinite thread of your soul, you reclaim responsibility for your life and the current state of the world. As we move into the Holy Days season, it's an excellent time to celebrate and reclaim your power to change the world for the better.
Recently, I facilitated a healing session for a sweet pit bull whose mother was rescued from the 2009 Missouri 500 dog fighting raid. This 5-year old dog suffered from high anxiety and delayed processing. His session was unlike any other that I've experienced with an animal. It was unique because he and his mother chose to incarnate as part of a soul group to help the collective consciousness of our society evolve, grow and expand. Through the gift of this healing session, the dog and his mother (who came through in spirit) reaffirmed to me that every soul who lives on this planet contributes to the collective consciousness and the evolution of all souls...What a beautiful world we live in.
Our luscious planet Earth is a living, breathing consciousness in and of herself. She is a life force that sustains all life. Animals are an integral part of Earth as well as to our existence. During one of my meditations, I was told from Spirit that there are so many souls who wish to live a life here on our planet that they'll choose to incarnate as one of the many life forms that inhabits this plane - which includes thousands of animal species. Working with the simplicity and purity of the animal spirits as a shaman is always so profound and delightful. Animal messengers and totems come through to bring us special messages and special support.
When a butterfly crosses your path, you're witnessing Spirit in physical form. There are so many stories from people who've lost a loved one and then saw a butterfly flying around them shortly thereafter. Often times they'll see a butterfly during the funeral service. According to Ted Andrews who wrote the wonderful animal spirit book, Animal Speak, butterflies were considered the symbol of the soul in early Christianity. To the Native Americans, butterflies symbolized change, joy, and color. Many times spirits will come through in the form of butterflies, hummingbirds, dragonflies and lady bugs. It's up to you to decipher which is significant to you.
Butterflies are physical representations of hope, joy, and pure unconditional love. Butterfly Medicine reminds you that you're always supported and always loved - no matter what your circumstances may be. Butterflies are magical, miraculous creatures reminding us that life is ever-changing, ever-evolving, and ever-joyful.
September's Sacred Wisdom: Just for today, I will be kind to all living things. This is probably my most favorite Reiki principle. For me, it's easier to be kind than to not be. Of course, I'm human and have my days when I'm not so outgoing, but over all I enjoy engaging with others every day spreading the love of positivity. Even if you've sequestered yourself in your house for days, you still have other people in the world who think about you and care about you. All life affects ALL LIFE. What one person does affects everyone else on the planet. Being an spiritual healer and teacher I've come to know this as fact. Usui's message this month reminds you to be kind to all living things, including yourself. I want to emphasize how important you are in this world. You're valuable, you're appreciated and you're significant. Your magnificence is beyond words. I invite you to take a few moments and say to yourself each day, "I am loved, I am cherished, and I matter."
Namaste (may the Divine in me touch the Divine in you) and may you receive the love that you need today.
Healing with crystals is fun and easy to do. Crystals are such wonderful generators of healing, positivity and love. They organically connect with the electromagnetics of the earth, our human energy field and the Universe. They're superconductors of energy and have their own electromagnetic pulse. To create your own grid you may use as many crystals as you like. However, if you're not sure of how many to use, start with four, representing all four directions: North, South, East and West.
First, lie down and take note of the distance of 2 feet from the top of your head, from your hips, and from your feet. Then place each crystal in those locations. That's it - you've successfully created a crystal grid. Next, lie down in the center of the grid for 5 to 15 minutes and simply relax. Afterwards, sit up and take 3 deep breaths to center yourself. You should feel refreshed and revitalized. Collect your crystals, rinse them under running water and then set them aside until you want to use them again.
Using Infused Healing Water in your daily life enhances vitality and optimism by keeping yourself and your space clear.
What you need:
1. A small spray bottle;
2. Water; and
3. the essential oil of: sage, cedarwood, rosemary, OR sandlewood. OR, if essential oils aren't an option for you, simply find 3 blades of grass, a sprig of rosemary, OR 3 flower petals (rose and lavender petals work best).
Fill your spray bottle with water then place it outside in the sunlight for 12 hours. Then leave the bottle in the moonlight for at least 8 hours. Finally, place 3 drops of the essential oil into bottle. Or, if you're not using essential oil, reduce the blades of grass or flower petals small enough to fit into the bottle. Next, hold the bottle in your hands reciting your favorite prayer or mantra. Voila! You've created your own Infused Healing Water. Treat yourself by spraying the water all around you, your bedroom, on your bed linens, in your car and everywhere else you'd like to clear and invigorate.
Continuing the Usui Reiki Principles for a living happy life, the fourth Reiki Principle reminds us: Just for today, live honestly. As we enter the last full month of summer, it's a wonderful reminder. We're reminded to remain in our integrity and authenticity every moment of our lives: whether you're cooking a meal for your family, driving to work to earn a day's wage, or talking with a stranger. When you live in integrity you promote honesty, safety, and authenticity. Historically, human beings had to conform to social or family pressure. People were forced to marry against their will or had to marry the right person for the family - even if love was lacking. In recent history we've witnessed others pressuring themselves to have the right job, or live in the right neighborhood to be accepted and loved.
People have also made themselves conform to something they were not - which made them out of alignment with themselves. Who we are is WHO we are - period. We're a culmination of our ethics, our desires, our character, our choices, our beliefs, our opinions - everything. It's so important to remember that we're human Be-ings, not human Do-ings. We're all valuable and special and we all play special roles in each other's lives impacting each other every day. Take joy in the simplest of tasks infusing the honesty of who you are in everything that you do. Being honest fosters Truth and safety which enhances our ability to live freely and be who we are with one another.
I love working with energy and know the power of its ability to change conditions. This month I invite you to play with the power of energy yourself by using a simple technique that I learned from a Feng Shui book years ago. This technique will help to uplift and energetically clear your environment and energy fields. It's the infinity symbol, or the figure 8. All you need to do is draw the figure 8 with your hand in the air in the middle of your room, your car, and over you body. When you draw the figure 8 you'll feel subtle, yet profound changes and feelings of lightness. It's so easy to do that you can do throughout the day, every day. Try it and enjoy the way it makes you feel...more peaceful, more connected and more clear.
Continuing the Usui Reiki Principles for a living happy life series, the third Reiki Principle reminds us: Just for today, count your blessings. It's the perfect monthly mantra, especially since we've just exited Mercury Retrograde. For me, this month's retrograde really pushed, pulled and squeezed on every level...until I finally just surrendered to the process. I was reminded of a time when I was 14 years old and boogie boarding in Malibu. As I paddled out, I caught a wave a little too late and immediately wiped out. The wave's undertow took me under with such might keeping me under water that when I finally came up to gasp for air, I was taken under again by yet another wave. This time I was pulled face down to the ocean floor causing me to scrape the side of my face along its sandy bottom. I came to the surface exhausted, only to see my uncle, a few feet away from me, coming in to bring me back to shore. This experience was one of the most intense moments of my life when all I could do was rely on the strength of my body and my lung capacity and simultaneously be flexible enough to go with the flow of the water. If I resisted the power of the ocean I would have fared a lot worse than just being exhausted. When I returned to shore, all I could think of was what could have happened. I remember being so grateful that I was okay and finally safe.
This month I experienced similar intensity, although not life-threatening, during Mercury Retrograde. I simply couldn't anticipate when the tumultuous waves of life were coming...they just arrived. One after the other, in their own rhythm, in their own time. All I could do was keep centered and go with the flow. This was the theme this past month for many others - clients, friends, family and associates. Today, now that things have settled down, I'm DEFINITELY counting my blessings. I was reminded that even though life has its challenges, focusing on what we have and what we're blessed with carries us through the tough times.
Reflecting on the wisdom of this month, I was reminded that tumultuous times bring to the surface what's important and what we need to let go of in life. Even though my profession involves working with the spirit realm and healing energy I'm still a regular human being with lessons to learn and a life to live - I count this as a blessing.
This month, I invite you to take a moment each day to reflect on your blessings: your children, your health, your parents, your animals, your job, your time, your body, having food on the table, the love of your family...everything. When you remember what you already have, you realize that you're already living a blessed and abundant life.
May you receive many blessings today, and in all of your tomorrows.
The second Usui Reiki principle for happiness is, "Just for today, do not anger." Usui believed that anger was often a destructive emotion because it's usually expressed in an explosive manner which simultaneously hurts ourselves and others. Usui believed anger resulted from having expectations about what we think should or should not happen. Choosing to express anger is a conscious choice. Even though you can't choose how you feel, you can choose how you behave. When you feel angry it’s important to be honest with yourself and to express it in a safe, non-destructive way.
Typically there’s a lot of shame associated with feeling angry, but there's no need to feel ashamed because anger is usually a sign that something needs to be addressed. Was a boundary crossed? Did you perceive something differently than the reality of the situation? Were you disappointed by something that you expected, but didn't happen? Learning how to express anger in healthy ways will support your emotional health by creating healthier relationships, including the one with yourself.
Sometimes you just have to go through life Cowabunga! style. Wiktionary says that “cowabunga” was used in the 1950s and 1960s by surfers as a declaration of enthusiasm and delight. Being a California beach gal, I love that!
To celebrate the end of school, graduation, Father's Day, summer vacation, longer days and summer nights, I want to invite you to remember the old adage: the best things in life are free. This month make the effort to nurture your friendships, your romance, children, your health, animals and everything else you love and cherish. Take time to laugh and smile and enjoy yourself. I’m sure you’ve probably heard this many times, but it's important to enjoy the time that you have in this life because you just don’t know how long you have.
This past month our family unexpectedly lost a dear friend. He was happy, fun-loving, always had a kind word to say, made time to chat with everyone, was active, and most important, always had a smile on his face. I always remember him laughing. This man truly enjoyed his life. Not to say he didn't befall on hard times, but he took it in stride and kept a positive outlook. I don't recall him ever being in a bad mood. Sadly, he went to bed one night and didn't wake up the next morning - he was only 42. One day he was here and the next he wasn't. When he was alive he knew that I did mediumship, so the day after he died he visited me and my beloved to offer us comfort about his passing. Even though I saw and heard him in spirit, it didn't take away the sadness of knowing his bright smiling face won't be walking through our gates anymore. We miss him.
One of the greatest gifts of his passing is that he's reminded us to appreciate life now - to simply live for life's sake. Since his death, I make the extra effort to smile more, make my friends and loved ones even more of a priority, and when I'm talking with someone I make sure I'm completely present. I've also allowed the little annoyances in life to be just that - little annoyances that are easily forgotten. His passing reminded us that the best things in life are Free. The only currency required is Time. So this month I invite you to live your life Cowabunga! style.
Being an Usui Reiki Master Teacher I've been blessed with the ability to both practice Reiki as well as teach it to others. It's such a beautiful natural healing modality to work with and its philosophical concepts are truly wise words to live by. Mikao Usui founded the Usui Reiki tradition we enjoy today. He is also the creator of the "secret to happiness" with Reiki principles that he believed were essential to living a happy, spiritual life. Over the next few months I'd like to share Usui's principles for happiness because I think they're great reminders for how to live life. The Reiki principles are:
Just for today, do not worry.
Just for today, do not anger.
Just for today, count your blessings.
Just for today, live honestly.
Just for today, be kind to all living things.
~ Mikao Usui
This month we'll cover the first principle, "Just for today, do not worry." Usui believed that worry is a response to something that we think is going to happen to us in the future, but often doesn't. If you can do something about a situation that you're concerned about, then do it. If not, then "let go and let it flow." Struggling to control a situation just creates a cycle of energy that'll make things worse and destroy your emotional state by creating anxiety. When you experience emotional anxiety your physical body is adversely affected which in the end, causes harm to your entire health. Be mindful to take care of your emotional health today by choosing NOT to worry. When you take care of your emotional health, you're also taking care of your physical health because you're sparing it from physically responding to worry and stress. Be good to yourself today and the remainder of the month by reminding yourself, "just for today, do not to worry."
I’m a huge fan of angels and always have been since I was a little girl. I wasn’t raised to say prayers at bedtime, but I remember when I was around 11 years old I realized that whenever I watched a TV show with a family, the mom always tucked her children in bed and made sure they said their prayers. Being an impressionable young girl, I copied what I saw on TV and began to say prayers when I went to bed. I said the same prayers I’d heard on TV which went something like, “Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I shall die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take.” When I grew older, I remember thinking to myself how yucky it made me feel to think that I might die before waking up in the morning. So I changed my prayers to, “Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. God please protect my family, my friends and…” And I always ended my prayers asking the angels to please protect my house, my grandparents’ house and to protect all of the children and the animals in the world and the environment from all bad things.
Even though I believed in angels then and prayed to them when I was little, it wasn’t until I become a professional intuitive healer that I recognized the full scope and impact the Angelic realm has on the world. We’re so blessed to have been given this life in the first place, and even more blessed by the fact that God gave us angels to help our lives.
Did you know that there’s an Angel tasked for each and every thing you wish to accomplish? There is. If you want to ride your bike fast down a mountain, you can ask your angel to help keep you safe. If you need help finding a friend’s house that you’ve never been to before, you can ask an angel to make sure you get there safely and quickly. And they will.
Many years ago I was listening to Caroline Myss on the radio when she shared a story about a male client of hers who lived a reckless life, flirting with death. She shared the story of his last and final reckless escapade that involved a serious motorcyle accident. Caroline Myss said that it was this motorcyle accident that gave him the wake-up call to change his life. The story goes: late one snowy evening, this man was riding his motorcycle speeding on a windy road, when all of a sudden he lost control on a curve and crashed on the side of the road. After he crashed, he heard a voice say to him “You will take a long time to heal, but you will be fine. But this is the last time.” Caroline Myss shared that this man told her he believed that the voice he heard was that of an angel. It was this one event, a serious motorcycle accident that made him not only believe in angels, but changed his life. I find this story riveting because this man lived a life almost begging fate to take it, but in the end he believed an angel saved him. Apparently his rehabilitation did take a long time, but he healed. He also heeded the angel’s advice in by choosing not to live so recklessly. I love this story because it reminds us how powerful angels are and how they can change your life in an instant. They simply want to love us and the power of their love can change lives for the better.
One of my own personal angel stories occurred when I was in my mid- 30s. I was married at the time, and my husband and I fell upon some hard financial times after I was laid off from work. Since I wasn’t working I worried about our financial stability and how we’d pay our bills. When I voiced my money concerns to a healer friend of mine, she told me, “Oh don’t worry. Just ask the angels to help you. They’re really good at that. They can help your bank accounts by manipulating the numbers. Don’t worry, just ask them.” I listened to her in disbelief, because I couldn’t fathom how an angel, who you can’t even see, could have any influence on bank accounts and money. But I was desperate and had nothing to lose, so I began praying to the angels to help me with my money woes.
To my surprise, for the entire month and a half that I was out of work, my bank account stayed at least a hundred dollars above the amount that I calculated it should be at. Every time I checked it, thinking it would be low enough to cause me worry and concern - it was always higher than I thought. Needless to say, I was in awe and amazed...my friend was right! The angels did help me with money as I was able to buy the necessities we needed as well as pay our bills. Now, this doesn’t mean that you can be careless with your finances and expect the angels to keep your bank account in tact. But, it does mean, that with faith, prayers to the angels and your own due diligence they WILL help you and support you during difficult times. I've only seen one real life angel in my life and let me tell you, I was in complete awe when I realized what I was seeing. It's indescribable. It was such an emotional experience that I shed tears of pure joy. Because I was so humbled by what I was experiencing, it strengthened my faith even more that the Universe has a way of sending Divine examples of love into our lives - all we need to do is pay attention. I want to remind you that if you’re ever feeling lost, alone or like no one cares, I can assure you that your angels love and adore you - ask them for a sign.
April's wisdom is short, sweet and reaffirms the importance of living authentically and Be-ing Who You Are. What does "being your authentic self" mean? It's said so much, it's almost lost its impact. Living authentically means that wherever you are in life, BE there. Even if you're not in the greatest place in life - BE there. If you're not feeling like you're best self - BE there. This month I invite you to be authentically Who You Are no matter what. What is authentic? What is Truth? It's different for everyone, but one thing is for certain - when you encounter Truth you KNOW it. When you see authenticity, you KNOW it. When you hear it, you KNOW it. You feel it - in your bones, your soul, your heart - everywhere within your Be-ing. You just KNOW.
Being your authentic self is about having the courage to be exactly Who You Are as you are. It's giving yourself permission to fumble through life sometimes and to move forward despite of those fumbles. It's giving yourself permission not to be perfect. It's giving yourself permission to make mistakes. The more authentic you live your life the more you learn about Who You Are. Throughout the day you're making choices, one right after the other. You choose to go to work, or not. You choose to get up in the morning, or not. You choose to say good morning to those around you, or not. You choose to get into your car and drive to work, or not. You choose to have coffee in the morning, or not. When you consider how many choices you make within the few hours since waking up, you begin to realize how powerful you are at each moment throughout the day, every day. Whenever you CHOOSE to do something, the choice is YOURS.
The more authentic you are in your choices, the more empowered you become. You learn what you're made of and what kind of character you have. The more authentic you are, the less resistant you are to change. When you realize that it's time to change something in your life, you change it. When you live authentically, you learn what you value in life. You become more courageous. You understand that even though some choices sometimes have unintended consequences, you accept it and move forward; because you know you were acting within your own integrity at the time. Being your authentic self and living authentically is about being accountable for your choices in life. You'll find that when you allow yourself to Be Who You Are you're actually happier, more relaxed and feel more connected to others and the world around you. When you live authentically you realize that you're actually living a fuller, more engaged, more complete life because you're fully participating. You're not worried about tomorrow, or "what if this, or that," you're literally going with the flow of life. In Eastern philosophy it's called going with the Natural Law. When you live authentically, your resistance to life decreases. And when your resistance to life is reduced, your peacefulness increases. Be-ing your Authentic Self simply grants you permission to BE.
Since beginning my journey with intuitive energy healing years ago, I've had the pleasure of working with many different people. Everyone from the believer in "all things spiritual" to the ones who "don't really understand this stuff, but thought they'd give it a try." There have been those who've tried everything and nothing worked, and had nothing to lose by trying energy healing. And the proverbial Doubting Thomas' who sit before me and say, "I don't really believe in any of this stuff."
I love Doubting Thomas' because I can relate to them. I personally don't take things on face value, I need hard evidence I can sink my teeth into before I'll believe something. I definitely have a "prove it to me" aspect to my personality. Even though working with Doubting Thomas' are challenging, they're one of my favorite types of clients to work with. I respect their skeptical nature and they're inability to believe in something, unless they see it or experience for themselves. But above all else, I just LOVE how Spirit always comes through for them by delivering a personal message or a personal feeling that only they know to be true.
The Biblical story of Doubting Thomas is a shining example of the skeptic who refuses to believe anything without proof. Ralph E. Wilson in 2003 relayed his view of the Doubting Thomas story and wrote how the Apostles proclaimed that they saw Jesus after his resurrection: to which Thomas responded, "I don't believe it. I don't believe a word of it. You're seeing what you want to see. Jesus is dead, I saw him die...and the sooner you accept it the better off you'll be. Give it up! Unless I see the nail marks on his hands and put my hand into his side I will not believe it!"
Years ago I had a client sitting before me who had the following response to my routine question of what he wanted to focus on in his session: "I'm only here because my wife wanted me to come. I don't really believe in this stuff." I graciously let him know that I was sorry, but unfortunately I wouldn't be able to help him and the session would be futile since he was only there because his wife wanted him to be. He vehemently responded, "No, no I'm open-minded. I want to see what she's talking about." So, I suggested that we stop talking and begin the energy healing part of the session and let the energy do what it does.
After his energy healing was complete, he stepped off the table, sat down in the chair, and I proceeded to give him the intuitive impressions that I received during his treatment. I gave him information about his work, his personality, and how to manage his employees at work. Long story short, he walked out believing that there was definitely something to "all this stuff" because as Spirit always does, a specific message came through for him, telling him exactly what he needed to hear, in the exact phraseology that he needed to hear it. I've come to believe that whenever I come across a Doubting Thomas they're searching for a way to connect with something larger than themselves.
No matter what your belief system - Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Muslim, agnostic, etc. - I'm absolutely 100% certain that Spirit is around you waiting to engage. All you need to do is allow it to happen. In the Doubting Thomas story, Thomas needed to stick his finger in Jesus' flesh before he'd believe he was resurrected and real. But evidence of Spirit can be as simple as kindness between strangers, hearing a particular song on the radio, or seeing a butterfly across your path. Spirit shows up in many forms. This month I invite you to believe in the perfection of Spirit in your life and notice how Spirit reveals itself to you. Take a moment to see what shows up in your life - and BELIEVE it.
What is the Aura and How Do I Nurture It?
The word aura is of Greek origin meaning "breeze" or "air." Your aura is an electromagnetic field that emanates from your body and interacts with the energy of the Universe. It surrounds each of us and has discernible colors in it. Your Aura can be affected by your emotions, actions, thoughts, experiences and attachments. Your Aura also reflects the evolution of your soul and the state of your health. Your Aura reveals the entire state of You. A trained intuitive can observe the repository of information about you contained in your auric field.
Nurturing Your Aura
An effective way to nurture your aura is to use color. Simply, find a quiet place a few times a week with the intention of clearing and nourishing your aura. Sit or lay somewhere where you'll remain undisturbed for 15-20 minutes. Visualize a beautiful golden color surrounding your entire body extending from your skin to 3 feet away from your body. Next, visualize a beautiful white light extending from your skin to 3 feet away from your body. Then imagine the gold and white colors swirling into each other: cleansing, clearing and nourishing your aura for at least 10 minutes. Near the conclusion of the 15-20 minute period, imagine a beautiful rose pink color surrounding your entire body extending from your skin to 3 feet away from your body. Feel yourself in this beautiful rose pink color for at least 3-5 minutes. Open your eyes and thank the colors for coming to assist you. You should feel refreshed, calm and centered.
This month's intuitive tip teaches you how to simultaneously connect with the Earth and the Spirit realm. One way to do this is with physical meditation. Traditional meditation teaches that we must sit in silence anywhere between 15 minutes to 2 hours to have a good meditation. However, if you're like me, sitting in meditation for an extended period is difficult to do everyday. Instead, I do walking meditation, also known as physical meditation. I'll put on my headset with meditative music and take a long walk and by the time I'm done, I've both grounded my energy with Earth and have connected with the Spirit realm. I'm lucky enough to start every morning with physical meditation. It's simple and easy. Even if you don't have the time to start everyday like this, you can definitely find time to enjoy physical meditation sometime during the week. Try it and see if this form of meditation works for you.
Listening to our hearts is often easier said than done. It's one of those concepts that sounds good, but we're often perplexed by how to do it. It proves to be quite challenging in our busy lifestyles because we have so much on our plates - our jobs, our families, our relationships, our cars, grocery shopping, the needs of our children, the needs of our partner, the needs of our bosses and the list goes on and on. Often by the end of the day we're so overloaded and overstimulated because we've had to make mental decisions all day. This makes it very difficult to drop down into our hearts and to connect with it.
The best way to begin to connect with your heart center is to stop - take a deep breath - and focus on the beat of your own heart. Allow the rhythm of your own heartbeat to guide you into a quiet space until all that you hear, feel and focus on is "thump-thump" "thump-thump." After about one to two minutes of feeling and listening to your own heart beat visualize yourself laying down on a bed of leaves and surrendering to the moment. After a few minutes ask any question that's been on your mind, wait a moment, drop down into your heart and then literally ask your heart what the answer is. The answer should be one that makes you feel a sense of joy and lightness or relief as well as one in which you exhale "Ahhhh."
This technique should help you bridge the gap between your mental center and your heart center.
Remember there are no mistakes when it comes to your soul's mission - success in life only requires that you're fully present in each moment.
I just love Valentine's Day. I love the color red, I love the fact that it's a reason to celebrate love, and I love that we're allowed to give chocolates, flowers and cards as tokens of our affection for those we love. One of my fondest memories as a little girl was making Valentine's day cards to put in my classmates special Valentine's day envelope. I looked forward to cutting the heart shapes, pasting the hearts on the pretty white doilies, and writing my special note to my friends. Even better, was seeing all the smiles and hearing all the laughter as we opened each others Valentine cards. Sharing our kindess and affection was so easy and fun when we were children. Those were happy times.
We can often take love and those we love for granted. Some people can go for days, weeks and even years without sharing their "I love you's" with others. Conversely, some folks can go years without being told that they're loved or appreciated. I think that is so sad. I think that if you love something or someone you should share it as soon as you feel inspired. Although, I happen to be one of those people who loves love and who's a hopeless romantic. I've always worn my heart on my sleeve. It took me a while to realize that not everyone was the same. As I reflect back, I understand why...it's not easy being so sensitive to others and to the world around you. It takes a while to develop an understanding that everyone is different and unique. However, I do know one similarity: EVERYONE, and I mean EVERYONE wants to be loved. It is said that it's better to love than to be loved...what do you think? I think we need the balance of both. Perhaps that's why there are so many pet owners in our society. Animals love us unconditionally. We love them and they love us back. It's pretty simple. Maybe we should go back to being simple again.
I'm so grateful that I've been given the gift of helping others. Whether it's a health issue, emotional issue, or the loss of a loved one, I'm continually reminded of how important love is. For example, whenever the spirit of a deceased loved one comes through for someone the spirit ALWAYS comes through with a message of Love. It's so beautiful. Sometimes I'm even moved to tears because the love is so pure and so powerful. It's a constant reminder to me how important love is to our everyday lives. Some of the most beautiful messages of love come from the spirits who never met the great-granddaughter, or great-grand-neice sitting before me because they passed away years before they were born. I feel so honored to bring through these messages of love to others because Love really does last forever.
This month don't miss out on an opportunity to share your love with someone. Sharing love is sharing kindness. I remember my US History teacher in college, Mr. Gillmette. Mr. Gillmette was lecturing about some important event in US history and in the midst of his speech he went off track. He began talking about how people aren't kind to each other anymore. People aren't nice to each other anymore. Mr. Gillmette told us that we need to start being kind to each other. I never forgot that. I heard this message almost 26 years ago and I remember it verbatim. I don't remember what historical event he was lecturing about, but I DO remember him telling us to be kind to each other. Now that's a Life Lesson. I'm so grateful to Mr. Gillmette for going off topic and sharing this very important Truth with us during class.
This month I invite you to share that you care by being kinder to others. Give your kindness to a stranger, it'll brighten their day. You have no idea how powerful you are. Your smile, your warm hello, your simple gesture of holding the door for someone are all examples of kindness. Simple acts of kindness show that you care about life and someone other than yourself. There's too much suffering in the world today. Too many people are losing their faith in life. Some people suffer from loneliness and believe that nobody cares about them. Ignite a little spark in their life today by being kind. Let others know that they matter in this world. What a beautiful way to help make the world a better place.
Listen to the little subtle whispers of the world around you. Have you ever noticed that when you're doing the most mundane things such as taking a little walk outside, or driving your car, or doing the dishes you receive your best pieces of intuitive information? You have to go on autopilot and think of no-thing first before your intuitive wisdom can spring forth.
One way to tap into your intuitive self at-will is to simply train your brain NOT to focus so much on the intuitive information you're trying to receive. Intuition requires a relaxed state of being in order to be received. A state of allowing. When you pressure yourself, you're forcing yourself and when you force something you're actually pushing it away from you. A simple and easy way to tap into your intuition is to ask a question and then do something else for at least an hour to two without thinking about the answer. I GUARANTEE you will receive your answer. It may not be the answer you were hoping for, or maybe it will be, but you WILL receive an answer. Try it and see what happens. Spirit wants to talk to you, Spirit wants to connect with you, and spirit longs to talk with you and share it's wisdom with you.
I see this often when I'm working with someone about a particular issue and then all of sudden their departed loved one shows up, or their angel guide shows up, or their spirit guide shows up. They ALWAYS come with love and a special message. The specific messages range from what to cook at the next family dinner, to how to manage their finances and even how to interact other family members. It's such a sweet joy for me to see the look on the person's face and feel the magnitude emotion of how much they've been touched by the spirit of their loved one. Spirit is so powerful, yet so gentle and infinite. If you've ever had any doubt about Spirit's presence I'm here to tell you that Spirit is very real, very present and very much alive. So, back to this month's tip: ask, do something, and then receive. It's that simple.
As we ring in 2014 it's the perfect time to consciously connect with, make our lists, and create our intention of what we'd like to bring into our lives this year. The marking of a new year always brings mixed emotion...we're reminded that life is continually in motion and moving forward...whether we're moving with it or not. Life continues to move forward no matter what. Even though we think we're standing still, the reality is that we're not. We're constantly in motion. The biggest inhibitor to our success is holding ourselves back from the natural motion of life...which is continually progressing and changing. The best way to embrace this motion is to surrender 100% of ourselves in every moment.
Did you know that you're most powerful when 100% of your attention is present in each moment? For example, if you find yourself in the position of having to make a serious decision, you can rest assured that you'll make the best one for IF you're FULLY present in that moment. Which reminds me, you can never make a "bad" decision. Why? The answer is simple: every decision and every choice provides you with an opportunity to learn. Life is a journey of wisdom and enjoyment. The more aligned you are with Who You Are, the more you'll enjoy yourself, life, and garner the wisdom that living a full life has to offer. This doesn't mean your life won't be met with bumps in the road, but it does mean that with each bump you can choose how to respond. Not every unplanned event in your life is catastrophic. By the same token, not every planned moment in your life is stupendous. Life is life, simple as that.
Remember this as you move forward in 2014 and watch in wonder how your life begins to unfold and expand as you live more consciously aware of Who You Are and living present in each moment.
